Epic Games key questions
Can I redeem an Epic Games code without the launcher?
Yes. Redeem it on the Epic Games Store website, on a computer or in your phone's browser. The game waits in your Library until you install it in the launcher.
Can I change my Epic account's country to match a code?
Only if you have moved to that country permanently. Epic allows a country change once every 6 months, temporary travel doesn't qualify, and you need access to your account's email. If you haven't moved, buy the code for your account's region, shown on every product page.
I redeemed the code on the wrong account. Can it be moved?
No. Epic's redeem page says funds and purchases can't be transferred between accounts. Sign in to that account in the launcher to play it.
I bought a Fortnite item. Where do I redeem it?
Epic's instructions for Fortnite item codes send you to fortnite.com/redeem. Sign in with the Epic account you play Fortnite on, enter the code and confirm. The item is in your Locker the next time you start Fortnite. If the code is refused, contact us with your order number.
Does the Epic Games Launcher run on Linux?
Epic's download page lists Windows and macOS, not Linux. You can redeem a code on the website from any computer, but to install and play the game you need the launcher on Windows or macOS.
