Payments & fees

Payment methods we accept, what the checkout total includes, and what to do when a payment fails.

Is there a processing fee at checkout?

No. The price you see already includes currency conversion and the cost of processing your payment, so nothing is added at checkout. That price covers card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. A payment method that costs less lowers your total, and an order of several items pays the fixed part of processing only once.

What payment methods does Andalu accept?

Andalu takes card, Apple Pay and Google Pay in every country, cryptocurrency when you pay in US dollars, and a local bank method in five countries: iDEAL, Bancontact, BLIK, Pix and UPI. None of them adds anything to the price you were shown. Checkout shows the total each method charges, and a cheaper one lowers your total.

Why did my payment fail or get declined?

A payment usually fails for one of three reasons: a checkout check that isn't finished, like the phone code, your bank not approving the payment, or a method that doesn't work for your order. The message you see says which. Nothing is charged when a payment fails, so you can fix it and try again.

Is entering my card details on Andalu safe?

Yes. You never type your card into Andalu. When you select Pay, a secure payment page from Stripe, our payment processor, opens, and you enter your card there. Stripe handles your card and its security checks, and Andalu never sees or stores your full card number. Your bank may also ask you to confirm the payment.

What happens if my payment succeeds but I don't get a confirmation?

Don't pay again. Your key arrives by email, and your order confirmation page shows where your order is. If you closed the page, reopen it from your browser history, or search your inbox for your order number. The heading and tracker at the top say what's happening, and this article says what each one means.

Can I pay in a currency other than euros?

Yes. Pick your currency at the top of any page, and checkout charges you in it whenever that day's exchange rate is available. You can pay in EUR, USD, GBP, TRY, JPY, BRL, INR, PLN. Prices convert at a daily market reference rate, the cost of converting is already inside the price, and checkout names the currency before you pay.

Why do I see a different fee for the same payment method as a friend?

Payment processing is worked out for each order, not set once for everyone. It depends on your order's total, the currency you pay in and your country, so the same method can cost you and a friend different amounts. The price each of you sees already covers it, and nothing is added at checkout.
