The first game drops two survivors into a police station overtaken by the undead, forcing careful ammo rationing, environmental puzzles and over-the-shoulder combat against shambling enemies and grotesque mutations. The second follows one of the same cast through the same outbreak from a different angle. This time a single enormous pursuer can appear in almost any room, hunting them and forcing constant improvisation. The third abandons the city entirely for a rural village overrun by a cult. It ditches tank controls for full third-person aiming, adds melee counters and an upgradeable weapon economy, and introduces a merchant who trades supplies for money found while exploring. Beyond the three campaigns, the collection adds a score-attack mode focused on clearing waves of enemies as fast as possible, plus extra costume options for the playable characters. It also includes an asymmetric multiplayer mode: a team of survivors tries to escape a trap-filled map while one opposing player controls the threats against them. Together the three games trace an escalating shift from claustrophobic puzzle-solving to fast, combat-heavy survival horror, while keeping a consistent focus on scarce resources and constant tension.
