About this game

Players trigger bullet time to slow the action down, dodging incoming fire while aiming precisely and diving through doorways and across rooms during firefights that take place in apartments, subways, warehouses, and rooftops. The story follows Max Payne as he hunts those responsible for the murder of his family, narrated in hard-boiled, first-person voiceover throughout.

Between levels, the story is told through stylized comic panel cutscenes rather than fully animated sequences, giving the game a graphic-novel visual tone that matches its grim, rain-soaked New York setting.

Bullet Time Combat Slowing time lets players dodge and aim during firefights.
Dive Mechanics Diving through the air allows shooting while airborne.
