At night the game shifts into survival, sending Elise into the Woods to face hostile creatures and manage food, health and sanity. She solves environmental puzzles along the way, piecing together the truth behind the village's past. Choices made across both cycles branch the story toward one of several distinct endings, and an all-female cast of romanceable characters adds relationship threads alongside the horror plot.
