Doom: The Dark Ages

Players storm through fortresses and battlefields wielding a shield that can be thrown as a weapon, alongside heavy melee tools and firearms, mixing close-quarters combat with gunplay. Combat scales up beyond earlier entries, with sections that put the Slayer on a giant mech or riding a dragon-like creature to fight enemies at massive scale, breaking up the on-foot demon-slaying with large-scale set pieces.

• Shield-Based Combat A throwable, blockable shield adds a new offensive and defensive option to close combat.
• Melee and Gun Hybrid Heavy melee weapons combine with firearms to keep the player constantly engaged at multiple ranges.
• Giant-Scale Battles Certain missions put the player in control of a mech or a dragon-like mount for large-scale combat.
• Medieval Demonic Setting The game reimagines the Doom Slayer's war against Hell in an earlier, more brutal era.
