The invaders, called Murkors, draw their power from shadow, so staying in direct sunlight is the core survival tactic. Each run drops players into a randomized location with its own quests, and ends in a boss fight once the sun sets. Players pick a hero before heading out, such as April, who fights with pistols and a time-shifting ability, or Rido, who carries submachine guns. Looting is central: hundreds of items drop through a run, granting anything from a double jump to a new weapon. Dying does not end progress for good; defeated enemies drop a currency that banks toward permanent upgrades for future runs. That meta-progression system lets a failed run still push a player's overall build forward across sessions. Combat blends twin-stick style shooting with careful positioning, since standing in shadow leaves a character exposed to enemy attacks.
