About this game

The player controls Hiro Miyamoto, fighting through levels set in ancient Greece, feudal Japan, a cyberpunk future, and a post-apocalyptic wasteland, each stage bringing its own enemies and era-specific firearms. Two AI-controlled companions, Superfly Johnson and Mikiko Ebihara, fight alongside the player throughout the campaign, and keeping them alive is necessary to progress through several sections of the game. The titular Daikatana sword grows in power as the story advances, unlocking new attacks and elemental effects that change how combat plays out in later stages.

Four Time Periods Distinct settings range from ancient Greece to a future wasteland.
Companion AI Two allies with their own health bars fight alongside the player.
Evolving Weapon The Daikatana sword gains new powers as the story progresses.
Period Weapons Firearms and melee weapons are themed to each historical setting.
