Borderlands 4

The player chooses one of several playable characters, called Vault Hunters, each with a distinct set of active and passive skills, then fights through hostile territory using firearms that vary randomly in damage, elemental effects, magazine size, and special behaviors. Combat mixes gunplay with movement abilities and character skills, and defeated enemies and containers drop weapons and equipment of varying rarity that the player can equip or sell.

Missions send the player across varied environments to battle bandits, robotic forces, and monstrous creatures, often building toward confrontations with powerful bosses. Progression combines character skill trees with a constant stream of new gear, so builds evolve as stronger weapons and equipment are found. The game can be played by a single player or alongside others working through the same missions together.
