The journey moves through temples, towns, and harbors as the cast works through a plot that blends comic hijinks with darker themes like grief and obsession. A large cast of quirky characters, including a reality-hopping guide, drives the story forward between puzzle sections. Puzzles require planning dimension swaps in sequence, since a wall in one reality can become an open path or a hazard in the other. Momentum carries between dimensions, so a jump or fall started in one reality continues after the swap, adding a timing element to the platforming.
