Shift Happens

The core mechanic lets players swap the size of the two characters, shrinking one while growing the other to squeeze through gaps, weigh down switches, or reach higher platforms. Levels are designed around this constant size-shifting, requiring players to plan movement and timing so that both characters survive hazards like spikes, saws, and crushing mechanisms. The game supports both single-player, where one person controls both blobs, and local cooperative play, where two players each take a character and must coordinate closely to progress. Humor runs through the presentation, with the blobs reacting physically to their predicaments and levels introducing new gimmicks like conveyor belts, fans, and portals that build on the size-shifting mechanic. As players advance, puzzles layer multiple mechanics together, demanding tighter coordination between the two connected characters. The bond between Bismo and Plom is played for comic effect, with their connected nature forcing constant cooperation whether or not a second player is present.
