You pick a human, elf or dwarf hero and descend through more than a hundred procedurally built dungeon stages, each laid out fresh with its own monsters, chests, healing fountains and neutral goblin traders. Fights are round-based duels resolved one decision at a time: you pick from your learned skills, striking with wind and water magic or pinning a foe with fire, while enemies answer with spells that burn, chill or otherwise weaken you. Spending Astral Energy is the real constraint, so a duel is less about reflexes than about which spell is worth the cost. Experience earns Adventure Points, which buy new spells and upgrade the ones you have through a branching skill tree. Equipment dropped by monsters or pulled from chests raises attributes such as Strength, Cleverness and Constitution, and a market lets you trade gear and stock provisions. Diamonds purchase rarer astral and healing draughts. Defeat sends you back to the start in roguelike fashion, but experience and progression carry forward, so each run leaves the next hero stronger. Boss encounters cap the deeper dungeons and scale sharply.
