Sherlock Holmes The Awakened

Players control Sherlock Holmes and, at points, Doctor Watson, traveling to varied locations to gather clues, question suspects, and piece together evidence using a deduction board that links findings into conclusions. Investigations combine traditional detective work, such as examining crime scenes and cross-referencing testimonies, with encounters involving cultists, strange rituals, and creatures drawn from eldritch mythology. Each chapter centers on a distinct location and mystery, requiring players to search environments thoroughly, solve environmental puzzles, and choose how to interpret ambiguous evidence. Player choices affect which conclusions Holmes draws and how certain confrontations resolve, giving replay value to how cases are closed. Sanity mechanics reflect Holmes' fraying grip on reality as he encounters horrors beyond rational explanation, tying gameplay tension to the story's escalating dread. The visual presentation favors moody, detailed environments that reinforce the shift from grounded Victorian mystery to encroaching cosmic horror as the story unfolds.
