Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages

The player wakes from unwanted brain surgery with key memories missing, guided instead by Nero, an implanted neuro-HUD, through a string of trials called the Rings. Surviving them reveals the player as a Sage, one of a small number of pilots able to bend physical law. That discovery pulls them into a fight against an extinction-level threat called the Extinguishers. The story campaign runs around thirty hours and draws on a companion science-fiction novel, or players can take on six standalone scenarios alone, in co-op, or head-to-head. Ships are built from 60 customizable hulls across five archetypes, and pilots draw from a pool of more than 400 unique abilities to shape how each one fights. Levels, backgrounds, and enemy placement are procedurally generated, so no two runs through the Rings look quite the same. Two-seat Duo ships let a second pilot join locally as a copilot, and a set of arcade-style mini-games in the Subrostrum area let players unlock further abilities outside combat.
