Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs

The story follows Kay, a reluctant heir thrust into rulership, as he recruits a cast of nobles, mercenaries, and misfits to serve as advisors and party members. Outside of battle, the player manages the castle, assigns roles to companions, and makes narrative choices that shape relationships and the kingdom's fortunes. Combat plays out on tactical grids where positioning, terrain, and turn order determine the outcome of skirmishes against bandits, monsters, and rival factions. Each character has a distinct class and skill tree, encouraging the player to experiment with party composition as new companions join the court. The writing leans on humor and character banter alongside the political stakes of holding a struggling realm together. Between chapters, the player travels an overworld map, uncovering side content and additional recruits while advancing the central plot. The combination of storybook art, dialogue-heavy scenes, and methodical tactical battles gives the game a distinct identity within the tactics RPG space.
