Monomals

Playing as one of four animal DJ characters, the player explores ocean-themed courses on foot. Courses mix jumps and hazards with a specialized fishing rod used to hook and capture strange musical sea creatures called Monomals. Each captured Monomal is brought back to the MonoMaker, a built-in composition tool where every creature works as a distinct instrument or sound. Once a collection is built up, the player arranges captured Monomals to compose original tracks, layering their calls and rhythms into a finished song. Finished compositions can be saved and shared so other players can hear what was built. The game splits its structure into two loops: navigating courses to physically catch new Monomals, and returning to the MonoMaker to turn that growing roster into music. Later courses raise the platforming challenge with tighter hazards and trickier fishing situations, pushing players to time their casts more precisely. The four playable DJs offer different starting points into the same core loop rather than separate stories. Players can pick whichever character's style appeals to them and still access the same courses, creatures and composition tools.
