Players explore a handcrafted, interconnected world of woods, deserts and volcanic reaches, fighting plague-born creatures with a growing set of combat skills. Progression ties directly to reconstruction: collecting resources and rebuilding villages brings displaced villagers home, and the more of the kingdom you restore, the mightier your character becomes. Puzzles block certain paths until new abilities are unlocked, so exploration loops back through earlier areas as the map opens up. Combat mixes melee strikes with special skills earned through kingdom recovery, giving fights a steady sense of escalation as the run progresses. The world is rendered in pixel art from an isometric, top-down view, giving each biome its own distinct look as the blight recedes. Between fights, players manage the slow return of a functioning settlement, choosing what to rebuild and in what order. Villagers who return can populate these settlements, changing the map's appearance over time. The result is a game about repair as much as combat, where every defeated monster and reconstructed building visibly changes the state of the realm around the player.
