Four Last Things

The player explores hand-animated scenes composed from real Renaissance and Northern Renaissance artwork, clicking through a cast of painted characters using a verb-coin interaction menu and a simple drag-and-drop inventory. Puzzles are built around convincing. Tricking or bargaining with these characters, often by tracking down a fresh sin to confess so the player can keep moving toward the next chapter of the story. The tone stays irreverent and comedic even as the subject matter turns toward mortality and judgement.

Every piece of music in the soundtrack is drawn from public domain classical recordings, matched to the on-screen paintings to set the mood for each scene. The game is built as a short. Self-contained story rather than a long campaign, structured around a handful of chapters that each pair a distinct location and cast with a fresh set of puzzles. Achievements and a bonus art gallery reward players who finish the full story.
