Expeditions: Viking

Outside of combat, the player manages a traveling camp, assigning followers to gather supplies, craft equipment, or scout ahead, while choices in conversation affect relationships with allies, rival clans, and the chieftain's own reputation. Battles switch to a turn-based grid where positioning, terrain, and each warrior's individual skills determine the outcome, encouraging careful use of formations rather than direct charges. Story decisions carry forward across the campaign, altering which settlements remain friendly and which warband members stay loyal as the journey moves between unfamiliar shores.
