Crown Wars: The Black Prince

Players lead a customizable squad across six classes, Crusader, Alchemist, Beastmaster, Flayer, Duelist and Gunner, each with its own skill tree and preferred weapon type. Battles are turn-based, and weapon choice shapes the outcome: halberds strike several enemies in one swing, while longswords cut through armor that would blunt other attacks.

Between missions, players upgrade a home castle and manage recruited fighters, who can be wounded in battle and need time to heal before they can return to the field. The campaign generates quests as it progresses and puts time limits on some of them, so deciding which mission to take becomes part of the strategy.

The setting draws on five factions of the Hundred Years' War, including the French crown, the English forces led by the Black Prince. The divided Bretons, the Navarrese, and the Castilians, whose ranks include some of the earliest firearms on the battlefield.
