About this game
A disembodied voice guides the player through a notebook filled with strange sketches and alchemical symbols, setting a single goal: find beauty. Exploration of a seemingly abandoned house is woven together with puzzle solving, a structure the game builds its whole loop around. Players solve inventory-based puzzles, logic puzzles, light riddles and mazes, and craft small magical toys that open up new areas. Hand-drawn two-dimensional art combines with three-dimensional environments to explore, pairing a soft, storybook look with an increasingly eerie mood. The story turns darker as it goes, touching on manipulation, pride, forgiveness and redemption, and it branches toward multiple endings. A free prologue lets new players try the game's first puzzle loop before committing to the complete story. Insect imagery and alchemical themes recur throughout, giving familiar domestic spaces an unsettling, off-kilter feel the longer players stay.
