About this game
Progress depends on observing recurring symbols, matching them to actions, objects, or creatures, and building a personal glossary of translated words rather than following any combat or reflex-based challenge. Each level of the tower is home to a separate community with its own language and customs, layered on top of one another.
As translations accumulate, the player begins to understand conversations between the tower's different peoples and uses this understanding to resolve misunderstandings between them and unlock passage further upward. The game has no dialogue in any real-world language, so all narrative information is conveyed through the invented scripts the player learns to read.
- Language Decoding Translate invented scripts by matching symbols to observed actions and objects.
- Multiple Communities Explore distinct groups living on separate levels of the tower, each with its own tongue.
- Glossary Building Build a personal glossary of translated symbols that carries between sections.
- No Combat Progress relies entirely on observation and translation rather than fighting.
