Beyond Contact

Playing as a Space Corps operative sent to investigate the disaster, the player mines, scans, and scavenges resources across an open world of unfamiliar fauna and flora. That material is researched into tools, weapons, and structures. A base-building system called the Habitat lets players raise a fortified sanctuary piece by piece, wiring it into a working power grid to keep lights, defenses, and machinery running. Combat pits the player against hostile alien creatures and the corrupting effects of the rifts themselves. Diplomacy with local factions can open up new technology and reveal what is actually causing the planet to unravel. Two ways to play are offered: a narrative Story Mode that follows a specific crisis through moral choices, and an open-ended Conquest Mode built for long-term survival and base growth. Three playable characters are available, each suited to a different role: a balanced generalist, a warrior built for combat, and a builder focused on construction and crafting. Cooperative multiplayer lets a group tackle the same world together, sharing research progress and reviving each other when a fight goes wrong.
