A New Beginning Final Cut

Bent Svensson gave up his research into alternative energy and now lives alone in a remote northern forest, until Fay, who says she has traveled back in time, arrives. She tells him his old work is the key to stopping the disaster. Players guide Bent and Fay through more than a hundred hand-drawn locations, solving environmental puzzles, collecting and combining items, and working through dialogue to move the investigation forward. The two leads must track down and stop an energy tycoon who wants to seize Bent's renewable energy research for his own ends. The story is told through stretches of animated, comic-style cutscenes that bridge the puzzle sections, giving the whole game the pacing of a graphic novel rather than a traditional adventure. Runtime runs well over twenty hours across the full campaign. Puzzles favor observation and conversation over reflexes, examining scenes, picking up objects, and working out what an NPC needs, in keeping with classic point-and-click design. The tone mixes dry humor between Bent and Fay with a serious undercurrent about environmental responsibility and generational choice.
