The story follows a young protagonist searching for missing parents, with exploration gradually unlocking new islands as tools and abilities are gained. Combat uses real-time melee attacks and simple ability combos against creatures encountered while roaming caves, forests, and ruins scattered across the floating landscape. Outside of combat, the player can plant and tend crops, cook meals, fish, and gather resources to craft weapons, armor, and tools needed to survive tougher areas. Puzzle elements appear throughout dungeons and ruins, often requiring specific tools or items gathered elsewhere to progress, tying exploration and crafting together. The floating island setting gives movement a distinct feel, with bridges, platforms, and vertical drops connecting separate landmasses rather than a single continuous overworld. Side activities like decorating a home base and raising farm animals add a slower-paced counterbalance to the combat and dungeon-crawling sections.
