Underrail: Expedition

Where the base game keeps to the cramped metro stations and tunnels of a buried civilisation, the expansion opens a wide expanse of water dotted with islands, ruins and settlements, crossed by a boat the player upgrades over time. The new area carries a self-contained campaign about a lost expedition and the older civilisation it was chasing, with dungeons that lean on exploration and environmental puzzles rather than corridor fighting alone. Mechanically it adds feats, new psi powers, and a specialisation system that lets a high-level character deepen existing feats instead of only stacking new ones, plus crafting components that extend an already dense gear system. Serious new enemies arrive with the setting, including creatures adapted to open water, and several fights are built to punish a character who has not thought about resistances or positioning. The content is aimed at characters well into the base campaign, and it can be entered partway through rather than only after the main story is finished.
