theHunter: Call of the Wild is a first-person hunting simulation in which players track and hunt animals across large open reserves, using realistic weapons. Scent and wind mechanics, and scouting tools to locate game. Players build up their hunter's equipment and skills over time, taking on missions and challenges spread across each reserve they explore.

This reserve covers a wide area of roughly 25 square miles, spanning dead forest, swamp and grassland terrain around a scattering of lakes. It introduces species such as puma, blackbuck, water buffalo and axis deer. And adds sixteen main missions and thirty-nine side missions built around restoring a neglected estate, alongside a buildable lodge, a shooting range and scattered challenge targets.
