Sons of Valhalla

Playing as a warrior chieftain, the player leads raiding parties into fortified villages, cutting through defenders with chained melee combos, shield bashes, and executions. Between raids, the player returns to a growing longhouse settlement, recruiting warriors, assigning them to gather resources, and preparing gear for the next assault. Combat rewards timing and positioning, with enemies that block, parry, and counter if approached carelessly. Raided settlements yield loot used to expand the home base, unlock new weapons, and strengthen the warband for tougher targets. The game alternates between fast, visceral 2D combat sequences and slower management stretches where the player plans strategy, creating a loop of conquest and growth. Environments range from snowy coastal villages to fortified strongholds, each requiring different raid tactics. Boss-like enemy leaders cap off major raids, demanding sharper reflexes and pattern reading. The overall tone leans into grim, blood-soaked Norse mythology, with a warband that grows in size and legend as the campaign progresses.
