Sonic X Shadow Generations

In the Sonic portion, the player switches between Classic Sonic's 2D side-scrolling stages and Modern Sonic's 3D boost-driven levels, chasing down a mysterious force that has trapped versions of Sonic's past bosses inside a white void hub world, with each defeated boss restoring a piece of the world. The Shadow campaign follows its own story, giving the player Shadow's Chaos Control abilities to warp through levels built around fast traversal, combat encounters, and boss fights tied to his backstory. Both campaigns emphasize high-speed movement, with stages designed around momentum, ramps, and precisely timed platforming rather than open exploration. Collectible rings fuel a scoring and survival system, while special stages offer bonus challenges for players chasing completion. The visual presentation carries updated lighting and effects over the original Generations stages, and Shadow's campaign introduces new environments and enemies not present in the original release. Together the two campaigns give players two distinct speed-platforming experiences within one package.
