Noobs Want to Live

You pick one of several characters, drop into a run, and fight waves of enemies while choosing new abilities between fights. The pitch is blunt: one skill plus one skill is worth far more than two, because abilities are written to feed each other.

Each character starts from a different idea. There is a sword master, a mage who throws fireballs, a summoner who fields helpers, a dog that generates gold and a character built around bacon. Their starting kits push you toward certain builds, but what the run offers you decides how it actually ends up. Gold picked up from kills can be spent to reroll the skill choices, so a run is partly a hunt for the one piece that makes a build click.

Runs end permanently, and what you face changes each time. What carries over is meta progression: talents unlocked between attempts make later runs a little easier to start. The result is a single-player loop you learn by failing, since the strongest combinations are not written down anywhere. Fights are drawn in a flat cardboard-cutout pixel style, which keeps the screen readable once fireballs and black holes pile up on top of each other.
