Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

The player at the bomb describes wires, buttons, and modules out loud, while teammates flip through the defusal manual searching for the matching section, and neither side can see what the other sees, so clear, fast communication under pressure is the entire game.

Modules are randomly generated each attempt, so memorizing a solution never works twice, and a wrong move can add time pressure or trigger the bomb outright, keeping tension high even on a manual the group has read many times before.

The manual itself grows more elaborate over time, covering dozens of distinct module types from simple wire-cutting to more abstract logic and memory puzzles. Expert groups often specialize, with one player memorizing whole sections of the manual to shout out instructions faster than a page can be found.

• Asymmetric information The defuser sees the bomb; everyone else sees only the manual, and neither side can trade places.
• Voice-driven cooperation Success depends entirely on clear, fast verbal description and listening under time pressure.
• Randomized bomb modules Wires, buttons, and puzzles are regenerated each attempt so no solution can be memorized.
• Scales to any group size One player can defuse alone with a printed manual, or a whole room can split the job.
