Hyper Knights

Combat rewards learning combos, since chaining hits together deals more damage and clears crowds faster. Outside of direct fighting, the player recruits allied Knights and commands their forces on a wider campaign map. That layer covers besieging enemy castles, raiding outposts and ambushing supply convoys to weaken rival Knights before facing them directly. One-on-one duels against enemy Knights test combo skill directly, separate from the larger battles against their minions. Skill points earned through fighting unlock new combos and passive upgrades, letting the player's Knight grow stronger as the campaign advances. Enemy Knights push back with attacks of their own, so defending captured land is as constant a task as expanding it. Minion armies fight alongside the player in real time, turning street-level skirmishes into large, chaotic battles. Progress carries across both fronts, so combat skill and territorial gains reinforce each other throughout a run.
