HordeCore

Combat plays out as side-scrolling action across randomly generated environments. You scavenge materials while fighting to craft weapons and defensive contraptions. Between runs you manage a home base, upgrading defenses and supplies. You also recruit new survivors to expand your roster of playable characters. RPG progression carries across runs as your team grows stronger and gains new gear. Decisions about who to send out and how to equip them matter over the long term. A separate optional card game, Horde Tactics, runs alongside the main game. You collect over 60 cards representing the items, characters, and creatures you meet in the wasteland and build synergy-driven decks from them. You can play through the wasteland alone or bring a friend into local or online co-op. That splits the work of scavenging, fighting, and defending the base. You can ignore Horde Tactics entirely and still finish the story.
