Gloomhaven - Jaws of the Lion

The base game follows a mercenary party through the worn-down city of Gloomhaven, investigating disappearances through linked scenarios of turn-based combat and branching choices. This expansion adds a self-contained storyline set in a previously hidden part of the city, sending the party into its undercity across 25 linked scenarios. Four new mercenaries join the roster, each built around a distinct playstyle, and the party can be run solo or in co-op with up to four players. Combat is card-driven rather than dice-based: each character's hand of ability cards sets the action taken and its speed relative to allies and enemies. Ten new enemy types and bosses oppose the party, and the campaign layers in road events, battle goals and new equipment as the story unfolds. Ability decks can be enhanced over time, letting each mercenary's cards grow more powerful as the campaign advances.
