Eternights

The player controls a young survivor who explores ruined city streets and dungeons, fighting mutated creatures in fast-paced real-time battles that mix melee combos, dodges, and special abilities drawn from the people traveling with him. Between combat sections, the player spends time with a small cast of companions, choosing dialogue and activities that deepen individual friendships and romances, with those bonds unlocking new combat skills and story scenes.

The game runs on a day-by-day structure: story missions and dungeon crawling fill part of the calendar, while free time is spent building relationships, training stats, or preparing gear before an approaching deadline tied to the overarching threat. Combat rewards timing and positioning rather than simple button mashing, and companion abilities can be swapped to handle different enemy types.

• Real-time action combat Battles use melee attacks, dodging, and companion-based special moves rather than turn-based menus.
• Relationship system Conversations and shared activities build bonds with companions that affect available combat skills and story scenes.
• Day-based structure A calendar system divides time between missions, dungeon exploration, and social activities before key story deadlines.
• Post-apocalyptic setting The story takes place in a city transformed by a strange apocalyptic event filled with hostile creatures.
