Dungeon Hearts

Coloured runes, called Chargers, scroll along a track named the Fatestream. You drag them to line up three of a kind, which fuses them into a Striker, and hitting that Striker fires an attack at whatever your party is facing. Chained matches build combos, and a well-timed sequence can cut through an enemy before it gets to act. The pressure comes from the stream never stopping. Enemies feed the same track and use it against you, so defence means intercepting their runes before those runes resolve. Four heroes fight together. Each one levels up through battle and unlocks around a dozen abilities spread across damage, healing and time manipulation, which lets you slow or reorder the flow when a fight goes wrong. Battles are generated at random across ten settings, with more than forty creature types and seven bosses before a final confrontation with the Dark One. Runs are short and the difficulty climbs steadily. The game reads as a puzzle game with role-playing progression built on top rather than a dungeon crawl with a puzzle minigame bolted to it.
