Dishonored

Corvo can blink in a flash across rooftops, slow time, possess rats and fish, and summon a swarm of hungry rats to overwhelm a target. Every mission can be finished without a single kill or as a violent massacre, and the world quietly remembers which path was chosen.

Levels are built as small open playgrounds rather than corridors, so a guarded manor or flooded district can be approached from the sewers, the rooftops, or straight through the front gate, and high or low chaos changes how the story itself ends.

Runes and bone charms scattered through each level upgrade Corvo's supernatural abilities and grant small passive bonuses, encouraging exploration of every alley and attic even on a mission built around one target. Audiographs and books left behind flesh out Dunwall's own plague-era politics.

• Blink teleportation A short-range teleport lets Corvo cross gaps and rooftops that guards below never see coming.
• Lethal or non-lethal play Every target can be eliminated, captured, or bypassed entirely without a single kill.
• A chaos system How violently the player plays quietly shifts the city's state and the story's ending.
• Open, playground-style levels Missions can be approached from rooftops, sewers, or the front gate, all at once if wanted.
• Rat swarm powers Later abilities include summoning a swarm of plague rats to devour anyone in the way.
