About this game
Players control Zack in real-time combat, chaining sword strikes with materia-based magic and summons while a slot-machine-style Digital Mind Wave randomly triggers stat boosts, free special attacks, or powerful summon sequences during battle. Side missions send Zack on additional combat scenarios separate from the main story, rewarding materia and equipment.
The story explores Zack's friendship with Sephiroth and Angeal, his mentorship under Shinra, and the events leading to his fateful encounter with Cloud Strife on the outskirts of Midgar. Cutscenes and combat have been rebuilt for this version, though the core plot and dialogue remain the same as the original.
- Digital Mind Wave A slot-machine mechanic randomly grants buffs and free special attacks.
- Materia Combat Zack equips materia to cast spells and summon powerful allies.
- Side Missions Optional combat missions reward extra gear away from the main story.
- Zack Fair's Story Follows the SOLDIER operative in the years before Final Fantasy VII.
