Each investigation unfolds on a huge, zoomable illustration teeming with tiny figures going about their lives. You jump between time markers on the same map, tracking suspects across moments to piece together how a theft, hack, or murder came to pass. An AI companion named EVE guides the work, handing you new tools and abilities as cases grow more tangled. Deduction sessions alternate with puzzles and brisk mini-game sequences, so the pace shifts between careful observation and quick thinking. Five distinct ages host the cases. They range from an era of clockwork automata and gothic intrigue to a sunken magical civilization, a modern metropolis, a desert of lost ruins, and a corporate far future. Solving cases changes the maps themselves, and a linked story threads through all the eras. A separate mode lets you freely follow more than thirty characters across ten points in time, reading their small journeys. It rewards observation and logic over reflexes.
