Baldur's Gate 3

The player and their companions wake up aboard a monstrous flying vessel after being infected with parasites that would slowly transform them into tentacled mind flayers. After the vessel crashes, the search for a cure pulls the party into a conflict between rival factions and a hidden mastermind. Players build a custom hero by choosing class, background and abilities, then recruit companions with their own personalities, goals and romance options. Exploration happens in real time, while combat switches to a turn-based system where each character acts in initiative order using limited moves, actions and bonus actions per turn. Dice rolls determine the outcome of attacks, skill checks and many dialogue choices, and most characters in the story can die permanently depending on what the party does. Up to four players can adventure together in cooperative play, with each choice branching the story toward one of many different endings.
