How to buy game keys safely: a checklist
By Andalu team · · 2 min read
Buying a game key is safe when you know four things before you pay: who is selling it, exactly what it activates on, how your payment is handled, and what happens if the key doesn't work. Here is how to check each one, and how Andalu answers them.
1. Know who you're buying from
Ask who the seller is, and whose rules apply. On Andalu there is one seller: every game key and eSIM plan on the site is sold and delivered by Andalu itself, and each game's page says so just above the buy button. So every order has one seller, one set of rules and one support team.
2. Check what the key activates on
A key is for one platform and one region, and it's one edition. Compare all three with the account it's for. Tell Andalu your platform and region once, and every buy box then says whether the key works on your account: see Can I check a key will work before I buy it?
3. Pay on a protected payment page
You never type your card into Andalu. When you select Pay, a secure payment page from Stripe, our payment processor, opens, and Andalu never sees or stores your full card number. Your bank may also ask you to confirm the payment.
Before you pay, you confirm your mobile number with a text code. It keeps stolen cards off Andalu, and once your device is confirmed it stays confirmed on that device for 7 days. Internet and virtual numbers can't be used.
4. Keep your order confirmation
Instant delivery: your key arrives by email, and your order page shows its progress. Copy the key and keep it somewhere safe, along with your order number, like #42101. It's in your order email and at the top of your order page, and it's what support asks for if anything goes wrong.
5. Know what buyer protection covers
- Covered: a key that doesn't work, a key that never arrived, and a key for the wrong region. Report it within 24 hours of delivery, and we replace the key or refund you. There's never a claim fee.
- Not covered: changing your mind about a key that works. You can still ask with a Refund request on our contact form, and don't redeem the key while you wait, but a refund isn't guaranteed.
Why a lower price isn't a warning sign
Why prices are lower on Andalu: it shows one all-in item price, with payment processing included, and some publishers price a region lower. A lower price doesn't change what you get: the platform checks the key when you redeem it, and buyer protection covers a key that doesn't work.
