You fly a single ship, the Albion Skunk, with a small crew and a co-pilot who handles targeting and chatter. From that cockpit you dock at stations, walk their corridors on foot, meet characters, take on jobs and buy and sell wares. The economy is fully simulated: factories consume inputs and produce outputs, prices move with supply, and cutting a freight route starves the stations downstream of it. Combat runs from single-fighter skirmishes up to capital-ship engagements, and you can pick a target apart piece by piece, knocking out turrets, shield generators, engines or production modules rather than simply grinding down its hull. Building is the long game. You buy and place stations, from small trading posts through farms to high-technology military complexes, staff them, and watch the structures physically grow as they upgrade. Over time a fleet of hired freighters and warships works for you. This version pairs the base game with the Home of Light and The Teladi Outpost add-ons, which open further star systems, missions and enemies, plus both soundtrack volumes and a bonus download of artwork and an in-universe encyclopedia.
