Wildcat Gun Machine

Movement and aim sit on separate sticks, so you strafe and dodge while keeping fire on the swarm. The layout is a sprawling maze rather than a randomly generated run. You explore, open up shortcuts, and drop into sealed arenas where waves of grotesque creatures spawn until the room is cleared. Encounters are hand-built rather than shuffled, which turns each arena into a combat puzzle with a specific answer. More than forty guns are on offer and they behave differently: homing rounds, long-range laser beams, explosive shells with a wide blast radius and plenty of oddities in between. Cash and pickups feed an upgrade system you tune to how you play, whether that means extra respawns to soften the difficulty or more speed and dash charges for a quick clear. Giant mechs are the other half of the loop. You free them from the elder gods holding them and pilot them against bosses that fill the screen with patterns. Kittens tag along as helpers. The structure is linear from start to finish, so progress carries forward and a death costs you ground rather than the whole run.
