Days go on hunting, farming, crafting tools and putting up buildings, seen from a first-person view or over the shoulder. Cold, heat, changing seasons and wild animals all wear you down if you plan badly.

The wider game is about people rather than one homestead. You persuade passing settlers to stay, give them jobs and homes, and keep food, water and materials flowing to everyone living there. Several settlements can grow at once, linked by trade routes you set up and supply yourself. A story of frontier expansion runs underneath the building work.

The supporter extras sit alongside all of that. A short original novel, Hancock's Secret, follows key characters two decades before the game opens. A set of themed wallpapers and a twenty-one track original score round it out. Those files land in a folder inside the game's install directory once the supporter content finishes downloading.
