About this game

In the base game, rival factions expand across a hex-grid map, building cities, researching technology and fighting over territory in turn-based battles. This add-on introduces the T'au Empire as a fully playable faction, built around 31 new unit types including modular battlesuits, support drones and lightly armed infantry. Rather than relying purely on combat, the T'au can spend influence to sway neutral factions to their side. This includes converting units like Kroot Hounds and the newly added Vespid Stingwing into allies without a fight. A dedicated system called For the Greater Good lets the T'au grind down enemy morale using influence rather than damage. A related mechanic called Subversion undermines loyalty inside rival cities from a distance. Markerlight-equipped units mark enemy targets to boost the accuracy of nearby T'au firepower. Squads of drones can be attached to units for extra firepower, defense or utility, depending on the drone type chosen. Battlesuits sit at the center of the faction's late-game strength, letting players fit them with different weapon and support systems to specialize a squad for firepower, mobility or defense. The result is a faction that leans on economy of influence and target-marking as much as raw unit strength.
