Victory At Sea

The player commands fleets from a top-down view, steering individual ships to angle their guns and broadsides against enemy vessels in real time. More than eighty authentic warship classes are represented, from destroyers and cruisers up to the battleships and aircraft carriers that came to dominate the era. There is no fixed set of missions or turns: players build their own story by choosing a side and taking on tasks as the war unfolds. Typical tasks include escorting diplomats and spies, protecting convoys and hunting down enemy ships across the map. Winning a fight can pay off beyond the battle itself, letting the player salvage ship parts or capture enemy captains, spies and decoding equipment. Hundreds of ports are scattered across the map and serve as objectives, giving the wider campaign a territorial, capture-and-hold structure. Combat favours fast, arcade-style positioning over deep simulation, rewarding aggressive maneuvering and well-timed broadsides more than long-term fleet planning.
