UFO: Aftershock

Players manage a base of operations, directing research into alien and human technology, producing weapons and equipment, and assembling squads for tactical missions against entrenched enemy forces. Combat plays out on grid-based maps where careful positioning, cover, and squad coordination determine mission outcomes, with soldier losses carrying consequences for the broader campaign. Beyond direct combat, players navigate relationships with other human factions scattered across the reclaimed world, forming alliances or rivalries that influence available resources and strategic options. The strategic layer maps out contested territory, requiring players to decide where to commit forces and how to balance expansion against defense. Building on its predecessor's post-invasion premise, the game emphasizes long-term reclamation of a transformed Earth, layering faction diplomacy onto tactical combat and base management for a broader strategic scope.
