Curators send teams of expert staff on expeditions to five distinct locations, uncovering artifacts themed around prehistory, aquatic life, the supernatural, science and space. Back home, players arrange exhibits, decor, flooring and lighting to build themed galleries and plan guided tour routes that keep visitors moving through the halls. Staff need hiring and training to maintain exhibit condition, keep facilities clean, and guard against theft and mischief. They also lead tours for a wide mix of guest types, each drawn to different kinds of attractions. Donations, gift shop sales and reviews all hinge on how well a museum is presented and staffed. Beyond the five main locations there are pop-up challenge museums with their own constraints, plus a sandbox mode that removes budget limits for open-ended building. This edition bundles the full base game with a set of bespoke decorative items for halls, walls and floors, plus travel-themed statues. It also adds extra supplies that let expert teams recover faster between trips, so more expeditions can be sent out. The core loop stays the same: explore, collect, display and manage, with the added items giving curators more ways to decorate and keep expeditions running.
