About this game
The player scavenges abandoned buildings and boats for materials, crafts and modifies melee weapons and firearms, and fights off the dead using hand movements to swing weapons, load ammunition, and search containers. Choices made while dealing with two rival human factions affect relationships and resource access, and these choices shape which of several possible endings the story reaches. Combat and scavenging both rely on physically simulated hand motion rather than automated animations, so aiming a weapon or reloading requires the player's own movement.
- Physically Simulated Combat Weapon swings, aiming, and reloading rely on the player's own hand movements.
- Crafting and Scavenging Materials found while exploring are used to craft and modify weapons.
- Faction Choices Decisions affecting two rival factions influence relationships and story outcomes.
- Flooded City Setting The story takes place across a flooded, walker-infested New Orleans.
