The Land Beneath Us

Players pilot a soul-harvesting weapon called the U.S.H., built by a mysterious Creator, and descend through ever-changing depths to face seven ruling lords. Turns give players time to plan, but fights still reward sharp tactics: chain skill combos, switch between weapons from axes to laser pistols, and read each threat before striking. Souls collected on each run fuel a Soul-Tech upgrade tree, letting players lean into raw power or elaborate combo chains between attempts. Underworld characters can be fought, bartered with, or confronted outright, adding real choice inside otherwise randomized runs. Because layouts and encounters regenerate each attempt, no two trips through Annwn play out the same way, though death only resets the run, not the permanent upgrades already earned. The tone stays darkly comic even as the stakes, saving the Creator and reclaiming the Underworld, remain high throughout the campaign.
